Kansas Team Camp Recap: (Forwards)
FORWARDS
The Kansas University Team Camp was held over the weekend in Lawrence and featured more than 20 teams from across Kansas competing in the field. While we weren’t able to see everyone, here is a run down of some of the top players throughout the weekend.
Brett Chapple, 6’4, F, 2019, Lawrence (Kan.)
There aren’t many players who play harder more consistently at the high school level than Chapple. He has an old-school feel to his game and is capable of doing all the little things at a high level. Chapple seems to have taken his game into the post a little more this summer than what we remember in the past and picked up a slew of fouls from opponents in the games we watched as teams struggled to deal his physical brand of play.
Chris Miller, 6’5, F, 2020, Blue Valley Southwest (Kan.)
A skilled inside-outside forward, Miller likes to operate out of the high post and showed off good footwork around the basket. After suffering a tough year in the win-loss column a year ago, Blue Valley SW will be looking to a strong sophomore class for production this season.
Anthony Selden, 6’5, F, 2018, Lawrence (Kan.)
A top-notch athlete, Selden almost always makes a play or two per game that makes you say, ‘Wow.’ He is explosive in the open floor and his best attribute might be his versatility at the defensive end. He is comfortable guarding bigs in the paint, or guards on the perimeter.
