Intro: Dominic Franklin (2020)
Class of 2020 post Dominic Franklin came on our radar at one of our PrepHoops camps back in the spring after he just moved here from Atlanta. The 6’6” 2020 power forward is set to attend Urban Prep Englewood next season. He has a ton of potential! He has a lot of physical tools to work with as he is super long and moves very well for his size. Almost runs the floor like a guard. So fluid and easy going up and down the floor. Excels in transition getting passes by running the court for finishes. Active big man that gets on the glass and snatches them with strong hands. His post moves are a little raw at this stage, but has the ability to grow in that area. Like his mid-range game a lot. Hit multiple 15 foot jumpers and looked comfortable putting it on the deck a couple dribbles. D1 prospect.
Franklin is running with Young & Reckless 15U on the grassroots circuit where he has started to make some noise.
“We are doing really good. We have to play better in playoff situations. Get back in transition and not turn it over. I have played pretty good. I could lead my team to be more successful in championship games.”
What areas does he feel his game has improved the most during the spring?
“My mid-range, finishing, and transition have really improved.”
He spoke about what he is excited about playing his first year in Chicago.
“I am looking forward to starting on varsity and do good next year.”
