Intro: Connor Linke (2020)
Freshman post Connor Linke stands at 6’8” with a 6’10” wingspan. The 2020 center from St. Charles North has great size and moves very well. Tremendous upside, but will need to add on strength in his final three years of high school. Linke has impressed us with his competitiveness in the paint especially on the defensive end. Shot blocking presence that has a chance to be a plus rim protector. Rebounds very well in his area. Gets on the offensive glass at a nice clip for put backs. Flashes potential scoring on the block. Linke has a chance to be one of the better centers in this class.
Linke went in depth about his freshman campaign and how that has helped him this spring.
“It went pretty well. I needed to get a lot stronger and I notice I am starting to do that. I am a lot more aggressive with the ball now going after rebounds and trying to make my own shot. I feel like it has prepared me for playing with the Wolves this summer.”
He is enjoying playing with the Illinois Wolves 15U.
“I like playing with them. A lot of good guys. As long as we keep winning we are all happy.”
What are the strengths of his game at this stage?
“Rebounding. I like playing with my back to the basket. I think I have a pretty good mid-range. I can definitely work on going inside the three point line and shooting.”
Linke does not have any college interest at this point in the process.
