Intro: Chris Roberts (2019)
Lincoln Park 2019 point guard Chris Roberts is primed for a big July after putting down the gas getting to the rim late in July when we evaluated him in two separate tournaments. Roberts is a downhill and attacking point guard. Over and over and over again he goes right at his man and scores at the rim. Quick first step allows him to get in the lane consistently. That speed translates into the open court as well. He blows past defenders and most of the time is looking to go right to the hoop for a score. Does a nice job of finishing through contact. Next step in development is rounding out game with a jumper and dishing the rock more. Potential LM prospect.
Roberts spoke about his impactful play with Young & Reckless this spring on the 16U level.
“My team is getting me open looks and setting me up for good opportunities to get to the basket. I think I can drive well and they know that. They depend on me to score.”
He knows what the strengths of his game are.
“I think I am a good driver. I am a good rebounder and defender. You can count on me. I am good at getting back on defense.”
The kid can really get it and go in the open floor!
“People say I am good in transition. I am fast so I get down the court easily. I get the rebound and fly down the court.”
No college interest yet, but we would expect that to change over the next year!
