Class of 2020 PG Breakdown
The 2020 point guard group in the state of Illinois is STACKED! Top two overall prospects are just where it starts!
The battle for #1 is on! Fenwick’s DJ Steward takes the lead early in the race, but not by much. Steward is a dynamic guard with a long and angular frame that should continue to grow. He is a playmaker that can score with the best of them, but also has a feel for dishing the rock. At #2 is Adam Miller. This was an extremely close call between the two. The central Illinois combo guard has size and the ability to get to the rack at will. Powerful and strong with the ball in his hands. Both are high-major recruits right now!
The next tier of point guards after “the big 2” is a trio that rank in the top 8. It is led by DePaul Prep’s Elliot Sieger who was probably the most productive freshman in the state last season. Played a major role for a young squad that will make noise the next two years. Tyler Beard (Whitney Young) and Reggie Strong (Farragut) also both saw minutes on varsity as freshman in Chicago. All three should be garnering D1 attention early. Donovan Newby (Bloom) and PJ Edwards (Springfield Lanphier) are tough guards that like to attack downhill.
Jack Kahoun (Oswego), Alec Millender (St. Rita), and Ahron Ulis (Marian Catholic) strengths are getting others involved.
