Arizona 2019 Rankings: Stock Risers
The class of 2019 is very balanced with a number of talented guards leading the way. However, there are plenty of bigs and wings in this class as well. In addition to being well balanced, there were a number stock risers who did plenty to improve their ranking this past season.
2019 Stock Risers
#7 Shaun Walhstrom 6’7 PF/C Verrado (Classics)
Wahlstrom has seen his stock improve expidentially over the course of this off-season as he has been a monumental member of the Classics. The Classics have been one of the most surprising club teams as they had a great July. Walhstrom was a huge part of that success. Not only does he possesses good size and strength, he is a great teammate with great work ethic. He has a soft touch around the rim and good footwork as well as a smooth shot. Walhstrom is a big time prospect with a lot of upside. He is at the top of the stock risers list and is deserving of it.
#10 Trent Brown 5’11 PG Pinnacle (AZ Power)
Brown is a knockdown shooter with a great basketball IQ who rarely tries to do more than he is capable of. This skilled prospect has improved tremendously en route to earning an invite to prestigious camps. Brown will be a key contributor to the Pinnacle team that many believe should be the favorite to win the 6A state championship.
#13 Jalen Graham 6’8 PF/C Mountain Pointe (AZ Power)
Graham has gone from a big with oozing potential to a skilled prospect who looks like he is on the verge of a break out. His elite level athleticism mixed with his versatility make him a nightmare match-up. He can play on the perimeter as well as on the block on offense and defense. He runs the floor well and is a quick jumper. Graham has demonstrated the potential to be one of the top prospects in this entire class.
#17 Josh Ursery 5’11 PG Liberty (Factory)
Ursery, the recent transfer to Liberty, has demonstrated that he is a top tier guard in this state. He gets from point a to point b in a flash. Moreover, he has a vertical that is off of the charts. Add to it, he has a great handle and an above average shot from deep. He can create shots for himself as well as others with ease. He is a skilled prospect who should make a big time difference for a program that made it to the final four last year.
#20 Jackson Ruai 6’3 PG Cholla (PowerHouse)
Ruai has elite level athleticism and can help a team in so many ways. He gets into the paint well and finds his teammates, he is talented on the glass, and does a good job of rotating in help side. In addition, he is a good on ball defender who is able to make up for mistakes and blow bys due to his length. Ruai should be ready for a breakout season next year.
