2018 Rankings Breakdown: Beltway Forwards Part 2
As the breakdowns for the 2018 player rankings continue, take a look at the breakdown from the Beltway area forwards part one here.
Below, we continue our breakdown of the Beltway area guards that were included in the rankings:
QWANZI SAMUELS | 6’7 F | ST. JOHN’S/TEAM BBC | #22 OVERALL
While Samuels has yet to match his production with his potential, he clearly has high upside. The 6’7 wing is a versatile defender who is very skilled, and has a nice touch from the perimeter. We expect Samuels to come into his own toward the end of his senior year, and begin producing like he should.
RICHARD NJOKU | 6’8 F | ST. JOHN’S/DC PREMIER | #28 OVERALL
Njoku is a dominant paint presence and a vocal leader. He defends the rim with pride, and attacks it with aggression. Njoku sets big screens, runs the floor hard, and crashes the boards with purpose. Njoku has good hands, and looks to dunk the ball whenever he can.
IKE NWEKE | 6’7 F | GEORGETOWN PREP/TEAM MELO | #29 OVERALL
Nweke is a high energy forward who plays bigger than his listed height. He has long arms, sneaky athleticism, and good strength. Nweke can hit the 15 footer consistently. He converts from a high rate at the foul line, and is always ready for a dump off. Nweke also has very good hands, and is a tenacious offensive rebounder.
DAVID MCCULLOUGH JR. | 6’6 F | RIVERDALE BAPTIST/NEW WORLD | #32 OVERALL
McCullough is a skilled 6’6 wing who defends well at the rim, but can also step out and be effective guarding on the perimeter. He plays with a consistently high motor, and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands.
DANIEL OLADAPO | 6’7 F | BLADENSBURG/DC BLUE DEVILS | #35 OVERALL
Oladapo brings energy to the front court, and must always be accounted for on the offensive glass. He has great hands, and doesn’t mind contact around the basket. Oladapo moves well off the ball, and can finish well with either hand.
