Recruiting Report: Anthony Braggs (2018)
Some recruitment has started to come in for the previously under the radar Anthony Braggs.
Right now it’s initial interest, some of it JuCo, and the 6-foot-4 Lincoln forward is OK with that.
“I’ve been getting some interest from a couple of D2 schools, and Everett Community College has hit me up, but that’s been it so far,” said Braggs, who says the ultimate goal is Division I.
“I’d go JuCO, I could always work my way up to D1.”
In order to attain that goal, he says college coaches have told him to morph into a guard.
“For right now I’ve been working on shooting more and trying to work on more guard play,” said Braggs. “I’ve been talking to colleges and they tell me they want me to play guard, so I’ve been working on my handles and my guard game a little bit more.”
As a junior with the Abes, Braggs says he primarily played in the post. But next season he’ll play more of a perimeter role.
“Last winter I was power forward for my school because I’m one of the tallest kids there,” said Braggs. “This year I’ll move out to the wing a little bit more, because my coach is trying to get me ready for college.”
Washington’s 34th-ranked 2018, Braggs had previously been a Northwest Panthers guy during his offseasons. He’ll play with Seattle Switch this summer though.
“They wanted me for a long time, and so I’ve just been training with them for now and going to their open gyms and stuff,” said Braggs, who highlighted his goals for the summer.
“I just hope that I get a little more JuCo or D2 interest. I’m just going to keep working hard and just hope that my dreams come true.”
