UAA Indy: Five Top Performers In 2020
This past weekend was great in terms of finding high level talent. With the shoe company circuits in town, it afford us a great opportunity to see those players close up. Here are our Top 5 performers from this past weekend at UAA.
Jalen Suggs – 6’4 | PG | 2020 | Minnehaha Academy (MN) | Grassroots Sizzle 2018 – Suggs is a tall guard with really good handles and vision. Should be capable of playing on the ball long term. Good scoring threat as he has a capable jumper and is strong through the lane, with his size, he’s able to finish at a high rate. Has some creativity with his driving ability. Very smooth game and scores with ease.
Elliot Sieger – 6’0 | PG | 2020 | DePaul College Prep (IL) | Illinois Wolves 2019 – Sieger is a solid guard with broad shoulders and an aggressive approach. Loves to attack with speed in transition where he can get at the rim quickly. Showed a good pull-up jumper and also off the catch. Should get bigger and have a frame that will give him an advantage for a few years. Love his toughness on the ball.
Michael Saunders – 6’0 | PG | 2020 | Lawrence North (IN) | G3 Grind 2020 – Saunders showed a really good pace for the game. On a team that is built around guards, he knows how to make plays for others pretty well. Showed a solid jumper yet again that should become better as he adds strength.
Deontae Craig – 6’3 | SF | 2020 | Culver Academies (IN) | G3 Grind 2020 – Craig might have been the most impressive 2020 this weekend with his energy and effort on the floor. He’s an undersized forward with plenty of toughness and can rebounded and defend at a high level. Missed the last half of their last game because he got elbowed in the head and had to leave to get stitches. Hard to deny his effort level.
Mason Madsen – 6’3 | SG | 2020 | Bloomer (WI) | Wisconsin Playground Warriors 2020 – Mason was an interesting player as a tall scoring guard that showed he could score at all three levels. He’s got good size and a solid frame. Shot the ball at a high level but was better putting the ball on the floor and using his size and skill to get to the rim and finish in the half court. Could be a high level kid if he continues to grow in size.
