Spotlight: Daequan Thomas (2018)
Daequan Thomas 5’8 point guard helped lead the Lee Central Stallions to an undefeated region record at 12-0 this past season. Thomas is going to be one of the focal points for the Stallions after departure of three seniors. Thomas will look to be the leader for the Stallions next season with the departure of several seniors. Thomas plays AAU with Florence International.
How was your season at Lee Central this year?
It was good we only lost three games during the season, but we lost to Keenan in the second round of the Class 2A upper state playoffs.
How is the transition of losing the seniors from last year going to change your role from last year?
It going to change because now I must step my game up and take control now. After we took the lost in the playoffs the seniors said it’s your team now. Position wise I’m still the point guard.
How have you improve your game since the end of the season and in AAU?
Taking practice more serious, working on my weakness that I have, and getting stronger.
What skills can help you at the next level?
Ball handling, seeing the court, making open shots, finishing at the rim, decision making, and my defense is what Thomas can bring to next level.
Thomas is ranked in the Palmetto State 2018 class. Prep Hoops will make a stop or two in Bishopville this season to see Thomas and his Stallions teammates.
