Recruting News & Notes
It's been a busy time of year the past few weeks, players are receiving offers, signing with schools and narrowing down their recruitment list. Listed below are some updates about where certain player have signed, who they have picked up interest from and how they can help their new college programs.
- Cape Fear HS Point Guard A.J Baldwin officially signed his Letter of Intent to Brunswick Community College. Baldwin led Cumberland County Schools in Points & Assist per game for the last two seasons, he will be a player that D1 schools will need to track over the next two years.
- North Pitt HS Guard Devonte Pettaway signed with St. Andrews University, Pettaway will be able to go into the program and play right away. His quickness and athleticism will cause huge problems for opponents, look for this young man to be in the mix for Conference Rookie of the Year.
- Whiteville HS Point Guard Tyrell Kirk has committed to UNC-P, although Kirk received some interest and offers from D1 programs he picked an outstanding D2 program to be a part of in Pembroke. Look for Kirk to be a player in the program that will get better each and every season, he's very talented and a tall guard with excellent vision.
- Cape Fear HS Guard Montel Moore signed with Central Carolina Community College as well as Forward Chris George, both are very athletic players that will be able to come in and contribute.
- Terra Ciera Guards Shaiquan Moore & Messiah Barnes will both be visiting/working out for Louisburg College this weekend.
- Elizabeth City State is showing strong interest in Clinton HS Unsigned Senior Guard Jeremiah Pope, Pope is a very talented player that has been flying under the radar up to this point.
- Greene Central Unsigned Senior Don Pigford picked up some interest from Radford after some outstanding play during the live period.
- West Bladen HS F John Bowen picked up an offer from Cedarville University during the 2nd live period session.
- Team CLT & Providence Day Guard Devon Dotson stock continues to rise, added an offer from Arizona this past week.
- Newberry has inquired about Apex HS Forward Eric Fox
- Village Christian Nassyr Daniels took a visit to Air Force Academy
- 2019 Star players Josh Nickelberry & Joey Baker both received an offer from NC State.
