Recruiting Report: Sammy Green (2018)
Sammy Green is a 6’0” 2018 point guard from Marquette Catholic. The lead guard is a solid ball handler that is slippery with the rock in his hands. Can dish it with some flare. Where he excels is shooting the ball. He is money off the catch once he gets in a flow. Green drilled huge threes to try to keep his team in the game. Small college prospect.
It was a great high school season for Green and his team at Marquette Catholic.
“High school went great. We went 30-4 and broke the all-time school record in wins. We made it to the super sectional game. Overall it was a good season.”
He thought he played at a high level contributing to his team’s success.
“It was my best high school. I definitely took the role as the leader of the team. Some games I didn’t have the most points, but I tried to get others involved.”
Green told us what he believes he is best at as a player.
“Definitely getting everyone involved passing and knocking down the open three. Being the guy out there to get the loose balls and stuff.”
The point guard runs the show for Gateway Illinois 17U.
“It is going pretty good. I like the guys on the team. We aren’t winning games, but everybody is playing and we are all enjoying it.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Morningside and Briarcliffe have really been on me. A few other D3’s and NAIA’s have sent me letters.”
