Recruiting Report: Ryan Phillips (2018)
Ryan Phillips from Wisconsin Playground Warriors is a wing with size and strength at 6’4”. The Jacobs 2018 shooting guard is coming off a strong junior campaign where he provided a lot of the outside presence to open up things for their all-state post. Phillips is a floor spacing shooter. He is best shooting it from beyond the arc off the catch. Worth consideration as a D2 player.
Phillips was a big part of a team that made a deep run in the playoffs after a spectacular regular season.
“It went really well. We were 30-2. Went to the supersectional. Unfortunately we lost, but I have a lot of interest coming in from colleges which is nice.”
He spoke about what he feels he does best and can bring to a team.
“My strengths are getting downhill and passing the ball. Obviously I am a shooter. With Jordan McCabe on my team I have to be ready to spot up. I am going to keep shooting and let it fly. I also have to get better on defense.”
Where do things stand with recruiting at this stage?
“No offers yet. I have interest. I feel it will come. Missouri State, Rochester, Judson have shown interest.”
Expect things to pick up on the recruiting trail for Phillips during July and in the fall.
