Recruiting Report: Jordan Boyd (2018)
St. Joseph’s 2018 power forward Jordan Boyd stands at 6’6” and is more of an interior presence. The aspect that always stands out about Boyd is how well he finishes in the paint. Not the biggest or overly athletic, but he knows how to finish around the hoop. Goes through contact many times converting and-1’s and getting to the line. The crafty four man has a feel around the hoop knowing how to score with his back to the basket with a soft touch. Good hands allow him to get dunks on dump off passes. Underrated outlet passer. Low D2 prospect that would be no brainer at the D3/NAIA level.
The post spoke about his junior campaign at St. Joseph’s where he was the main interior presence.
“My high school season went good. We didn’t go back down state, but we saw improvement as the year went along. I think my year individually went great. I helped my team out a lot and did the things coach told me to do.”
What areas did he feel he improved?
“I improved in my shooting and my dribbling.”
He is running with Chicago Lockdown on this grassroots circuit. What does he see as the biggest assets in his game at this stage?
“I can score, play defense, and rebound.”
The junior updated us on his recruitment.
“I have an offer from Ferris State. They were very welcoming to me and my brother on my visit. It was a nice atmosphere. They like the way I rebound and shoot. Also how I play outside and inside.”
