Player interview with 6’5 big man Braxton Libby from Layton High School.
What are some strengths you have in your game that make you the player that you are?
“I can shoot the three well for a big guy, I’m a good rebounder for my size and I’m able to guard in the post and on the perimeter.
What are some of your weaknesses that you would like to work on?
“I need to improve my ball handling so I can drive by defenders from the perimeter. This will help my all around game.”
What is your dream college that you would want to play for and why?
“Duke or North Carolina. They are powerhouses and have had great players in the past and Duke has Frank Jackson on their team right now.”
Why should a college coach offer you a scholarship?
“I think my ability to shoot the ball for a big man makes me pretty versatile. A lot of offensive systems like to use a stretch 4 and I fit that mold. Also, I’m hard worker when it comes to getting the gym for extra reps and I take school very seriously.”
Wh0 is your favorite NBA player and why?
“Damian Lillard. I had a chance to work out with him a few years ago and he’s a great guy. I also really like the way he plays and how aggressive he is at all time.”
What college are recruiting you? What are looking schools are you interested in and why?
“The schools recruiting me right now are Centraila College, Southwestern Oregon Community College, and Clackamas Community College.”
What are you interested in majoring in during college?
“Physical Therapy.”
What are looking schools are you interested in and why?
“I’m looking for a basketball program that fits my style of play and I can be successful in.”
What is your favorite off the court activity and why?
“Dirt biking.”

Braxton Libby is a 6’5 stretch forward that is a solid three point shooter and has shot around 33% from there for his high school career. He is a high IQ player and constantly makes the right decision for his team. Libby is a solid defender who is knows how to play help side defense and is also able to switch onto guards. He would be a great fit at a lower-level junior college and potentially could play NAIA or D3 after two years.
