Recent Signees Part III
Every once in awhile there are a few players that sign letter of intent that surprise everyone but most players that sign with schools aren’t big surprises. Today we had a major surprise.
Emmanuel Akot 6’8 F (Wasatch Academy/Exum Elite)
Emman has decided to reclassify from 2018 to the Class of 2017. Akot was the number 1 player in the 2018 class and now I would say that he is now the best player in the 2017 class. The University of Arizona signee will join a loaded class but is definitely ready to play. Akot will be a great perimeter player at the next level as he has amazing play making ability. On the Adidas Gauntlet Series you can see him find his spots and nail contested shots that not just anyone could hit. Akot will get stronger and should be ready for the pace at the next level.
Matt Lindsey 6’2 G (Olympus/ UBC)
Matt has decided to sign with Salt Lake CC. Lindsay is a great all-around player who is crafty. Lindsey gets to the basket well and he can shoot the ball. Playing at Olympus under Matt Barnes, Lindsey has been an absolute winner. With SLCC being stacked next year look for Lindsey to continue to get better as he will battle some great guards on that current roster. Great pick-up by one of the local schools.
JD Ahlstrom 6’1 G (Juan Diego)
JD is an underrated guard that played on a loaded high school team. JD has a great motor, great vision and can figure out ways to score the basket. JD has signed to play at George Fox DIII where he will not only excel on the court but in the classroom as a high academic student.
Other Signees:
Neema Namdar (Alta) 6’2 SG has left D1 Southern Utah University and signed with Utah State Easter in the NJCAA. Namdar is a great shooter making a transition to PG.
Kur Kuath (Kearns) 6’9 F has left Western Wyoming and signed with Salt Lake CC. Kuath put up some great numbers his freshman year at WWCC and look for him to do the same for the Bruins.
Still Available:
6’9 F Jakoby Kemp (Layton) has decided to transfer from the D1 University of Missouri and is looking to land at a local JUCO.
6’6 F Chase Berry (Skyridge)
6’6 W Jeff Baradziej (Wasatch Academy)
Utah has a lot more players that are unsigned but will serve two year LDS Missions and they will look to revisit the recruiting process upon return.
