Recent Signees Part II
The school year is winding down and many unsigned seniors are still looking for a a school that will give them a chance or a school that will fit their needs. Utah has seen a rise in boys basketball players signing letters of intent. Here are a few more notable players that have committed to play basketball.
6’6 F Steven Price (Juan Diego)
One of the most sought after prospects. Steven had been courted by many schools across the country to play. Steven had initially decided to stay in Utah and play for Salt Lake Community College but Steven has decided to commit to Southwestern Oregon CC and play under Coach Hop and Coach G. Steven will be an immediate impact player that has freakish athletic ability. Steven can get to the basket with ease and he has a great feel for rebounding the ball and getting easy put backs. In two years Steven can turn into a Division I wing.
6’2 PG/SG Marcus Draney (Skyridge/Exum Elite)
Marcus has decided to play for Umpqua CC who was a Final Four team a year ago. Umpqua will get a dynamic guard that can run the point an shoot as well. With Umpqua signing Connor Shaw this is a great pick-up because Marcus can create open shots for a dynamic shooter like Shaw.
6’2 SG Taylor Peppinger (Murray/Salt Lake Rebels)
Shooting Guard Taylor Peppinger has committed to play basketball at Centrailia College, WA. Taylor can flat out shoot the ball and will be great addition as he will be able to spread the floor. Taylor will need to work on his ball handling and defense to make an immediate impact at the next level.
6’5 F Chan Hargraves (Layton Christian Academy)
Relatively unknown to most people because Chan plays for a small school in 2A, but Chan is a great athlete that can do it inside and out. He can run the floor and get put-back dunks, but he can also shoot the three with ease. Chan has signed his letter of intent to play at Laramie County CC, WY.
6’2 G Tyler Boyak (Maple Mountain)
Tyler has committed to play for Sothwestern Oregon when he returns from his 2-year LDS Church Mission in Mexico. Tyler averaged 16 Points, 3 Rebounds and 4 Assist a game. Tyler was a underrated guard that could do multiple things for his team on the court. He will bring multiple skill sets to SWOCC upon return.
5’9 PG Tan Eslliey (Juan Diego)
Tan is a high academic qualifier that was getting a few looks from some high academic institutions. Tan has a great motor and is quick and smart with the basketball. Tan is a true PG who looks to distribute first and slash and score second. Tan has committed to play for Division III Pacific University, OR.
