Prospect Spotlight: Jake Wolfe (2018)
Jake Wolfe is a strong wing that when we saw him last summer was mostly a spot up shooter. His ball handling has greatly improved over the last year. The Aurora Christian 2018 small forward showed better handles getting through traffic as he got to the rim with more ease than in the past this spring with the Illinois Wolves. Also did what he does best which is let it fly from deep. Wolfe is a plus shooter off the catch. Hits the glass and plays with a lot of toughness. Low-major/D2+ prospect.
Wolfe talked about his junior year at Aurora Christian.
“It was good. We made a lot of strides. We had a lot of young kids this year. We are hoping to come back next year with a stronger team. We have a lot of guys coming back so I think it should be good next year.”
How did he play individually during the high school season?
“I think I played pretty good. I led my team and scored. I tried to do everything I could.”
His handles are definitely one of the biggest areas he has grown as a player.
“Off the bounce and my shooting has gotten more consistent. I think those are the biggest improvements that I have had.”
He is enjoying playing with the Illinois Wolves 17U on the UAA circuit.
“It is good. We are starting to play well together. When we play well together we are dangerous.”
What is going on with recruiting.
“I don’t really have many looks right now to be honest.”
This underrated prospect should get more recruiting attention as we head into July.
