Prospect Spotlight: Izayah Lee (2018)
Proviso West 2018 Izayah Lee is a combo guard that is tough as nails. The scorer is at his best taking his man off the bounce and going on straight line drives to the rack. Has a knack for finding creases in the defense and converting acrobatic layups through traffic. Rebounds well for a guard. Small college recruit that packs a scoring punch has played well for All-In Connor on the 17U level this spring.
Lee chatted with PHI breaking down his junior year at Proviso West.
“We started off slow and made it the third regional game in the playoffs where we lost to Kenwood. We should be better next year. We will have a lot of juniors returning so we should be good for next year.”
How did he think it went for him from an individual standpoint?
“I think I did good. I was a playmaker for our team. I could have better on defense. The ball was always in my hands so I had to score the ball. My teammates were always very helpful.”
Being in attack mode and getting to the charity stripe is a major part of his game.
“I like to draw contact and get to the line a lot. Going to the rim is definitely my thing.”
He is enjoying playing with All-In Connor on the circuit.
“It is going good. We are coming together. This is our first year together because we all came from different AAU teams.”
