Prospect Spotlight: Isaiah Jackson (2020)
A top player in Michigan’s 2020 class, 6-foot-7 Lutheran Northwest post, Isaiah Jackson, is in the process of morphing from a big to a wing.
He’s playing stretch-four this summer for his grassroots squad, and says he played out on the perimeter some this past winter for the Crusaders.
“Originally I was a post player, but now I’m starting to play the three, and more of a wing player. I’m starting to get better out on the wing as I play more, but I can still play post well too,” said Jackson.
“Right now, what I’m best at is blocking shots and getting to the basket. I’m going to be working on my dribbling and my shot this summer.”
As a freshman, Jackson started all season with the Crusaders, and said he learned a lot while doing so. Now, he’s playing on the EYBL 15U Circuit with The Family.
“They have me playing the three and the four. And my goals are I want to win because I want to try and get scholarships,” said Jackson.
“They need me to block shots and get rebounds and push the ball, maybe knock down a couple mid-range shots — that’s it.”
Just a freshman, Jackson has yet to see any real interest come his way, he’s hoping that changes by summer’s end.
“I’ve seen some college coaches around, but they haven’t said anything to me,” said Jackson. “I’m hoping by the end of the summer I have a few that talk to me.”
