Prospect Spotlight: Eric Peterson (2018)
Eric Peterson is a 6’3” lengthy shooting guard in the 2018 class out of Batavia. High IQ player that understands the game. Peterson shoots it well from three off the catch and can mix in a runner on occasion. Makes sound decisions with the ball as a wing passer. Like what he brings to the table on the defensive end. He knows how to use his length to get in his opponent and has solid foot speed to not let his man get around him. Should be a quality D3/NAIA target!
Peterson chatted with PHI about his season at Batavia and playing a new position.
“It was pretty good. I actually got switched to point guard so I got a lot of ball handling in. I was able to focus on leadership and running the team.”
What are the strengths of his game?
“I am a shooter that can take it to the basket. Can also pull up from mid-range. I also take pride in my defense.”
He has run with Tri City Thunder for a while and is looking forward to playing with them again.
“A lot of fun. We are real smart and play well together. I think when play good we can compete with anyone.”
Peterson isn’t hearing from many schools at this point. The small college prospect told us what he will look for in a school.
“Coaching staff and overall quality of the school.”
