Prospect Spotlight: Dowar Jioklow (2020)
In what has turned out to be a talented freshman class, few have higher upside than Dowar Jioklow of Flint Hill. At 6-foot-7, and still growing, Jioklow possesses a strong motor to go along with a nice blend of size and skill.
“I post up a lot, but I can also shoot the outside shot and get by my man,” Jioklow explained. “I’ve been playing since 5th grade, but I took basketball seriously when I got to high school. I need to work on everything, but most importantly ball handling, shooting, defense and getting quicker.”
Jioklow produced consistently during his frosh campaign, and should see his minutes and productivity increase with each season. One thing we really like about Jioklow is his defensive versatility. He is capable of moving his feet and keeping up with guards on the perimeter, but is a good pick and roll defender.
“I think the most improved aspects of my game are my quickness, ball handling, and shot making ability,” Jioklow stated. “I want to go to a school that can prepare me and get me better and a school that I can come in and play.”
While it’s still early in the recruiting process for the talented freshman, we don’t expect it to be long before division one programs begin actively recruiting Jioklow. What can he bring to a college program?
“Toughness. Someone who’s able to run a team.”
