Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the latest recruiting news from around the Palmetto State this past week. The school year is coming to close in the next few weeks.
Duane Moss has committed to play at Chattanooga next season. Moss recently visited the Mocs and picked up a scholarship offer. Moss a one-time Youngstown State signee had a injury plagued senior season and finished his career with 1,010 points at Carolina Forest HS. Moss is ranked #8 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
Jalen Cameron will take a official visit to Cape Fear Community College (Wilmington, NC) this coming Wednesday according to West Florence HS Head Coach Pete Ellis. Cameron a 4 year varsity letter winner averaged 17.5 ppg and 9.8 rebounds this season for the 20-6 Knights. Cameron finished his career with 1,530 points. Cameron is ranked #16 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Jalen McKelvey helped Southside HS (Greenville) to the 3A State Championship this season over Dillon HS. McKelvey has committed to play at Spartanburg Methodist College according to Team South Carolina AAU Coach Mike Alexander. McKelvey averaged over 20 ppg this year. McKelvey is ranked #39 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
Blake Walker will attend Coastal Carolina University next season as a student according to Wilson Head Coach Derrick McQueen. Walker a point guard averaged 11 ppg this season for the Tigers. Walker finished his career with 1,141 points. Walker was ranked #37 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
Nevin Zink played part of the season at 22 Feet Academy before returning home to Connecticut. Zink a forward told Prep Hoops that he will do a post graduate season next season at St Andrew’s School in Barrington, Rhode Island. Zink was ranked #45 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Antron Smith will play his college basketball in the Windy City at Olive Harvey College (NJCAA) next season. Smith signed yesterday a national letter of intent at Loris HS. Smith played a few seasons at Oakbrook Prep before resurfacing back on the Grand Strand this season. Smith averaged 12.5 ppg and 4.4 rebounds for the Lions this season. Smith was ranked #95 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Ikaun Smith will take a different route and join the Marines after high school according to Bethune-Bowman Head Coach Aris Coulter. Smith a guard helped the Mohawks to the playoffs this season. Smith was ranked #117 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
