Which Talented Unsigned Seniors Remain?
While coaches continue to look for players that can make an impact on their program. Here are handful of Utah’s quality unsigned seniors.
6’3 CG Christians Gutierrez, Layton Christian Academy
Christians is a classic throwback player that can find ways to get in the paint and draw fouls. He has a great motor that allows him to play with high intensity on both ends of the court. What makes Christians a special unsigned player is his craftiness on offense and defense. Christians makes everyone on the court better as he rebounds, passes and scores. He can guard multiple positions from a small PG to a SF. Christians is looking for a JUCO to help refine his basketball tools.
6’6 SF Chase Berry, Skyride
Chase is a superior athlete that is a true wing that could be used as a stretch big as well. One of the better athletes in the entire state. Chase has a great feel for the game as he finds himself in great positions on the court especially to get easy dunks in transition or simply powering his way to the basket. If your looking for a wing that can get you a block or rebound and take it coast to coast you will find Chase Berry to be the perfect athlete for the up and down style of play. He is an ideal JUCO talent that can do multiple things inside and out.
6’6 W Marqus Gilson, Westlake
Marqus has a great feel for the game and great length. He is a D2 player that has been receiving additional interest because he is playing with an unsigned senior team. High academic student that could go the STEM route. Marqus has continued to develop his mid-range game as well as his three-point shooting ability. He could be a great pickup for a team looking to get minutes out of him now or looking to develop a player for the future.
6’3 PG Marcus Draney, Skyridge
As a scoring PG Marcus can be dynamic in the open court. He can also play the off-guard position with his ability to defend, contest shots and rebound. He is great against a zone because he can shoot the ball well and carve his way through the paint to create for himself or his teammates. Marcus has a good mid-range game that will only get better.
