Intro: Isaiah Rivera (2020)
Class of 2020 wing Isaiah Rivera is a 6’4” small forward from Geneseo High School. He is a lengthy wing that handles it well on the perimeter. Clean looking shot from three as he can hit them with deep range. Nice feel for the game and can pass it. Competes on the defensive end and moves well laterally.
He spoke about his first year of high school ball.
“The first year was great. Learning and getting better. Learning how to compete against varsity players.”
What are the strengths of his game?
“A wing that can do a lot of different things. Play the one through the four. If a big is on me I can take him. If a guard is on me I can post him up.”
Rivera is a mainstay for Quad City Elite that is a key member of their 15U squad. He spoke about what he is looking forward to with them.
“Winning games and getting better. We have improved all three years I have been on here. First year we weren’t winning many games and now we are competing.”
What areas is he looking to improve?
“My shot, ball handling, and reading the game.”
One Big 10 school has shown early interest.
“I visited Iowa last year. I went to a basketball game. It was real good. Great atmosphere even though they were on Christmas break. I like they are always competing in the Big 10.”
