Grassroots TOC: Day 2 Action
Prep Hoops came back to the Greensboro Coliseum to watch some more South Carolina teams to finish the day on Saturday.
Naquan Addison (2018) Spring Valley HS – Team United South Carolina 17U
Addison likes to drive to the basket and draw contact. Addison likes to play the game with some attitude. Addison converted on 11 free throws today. Addison scored a team high 20 points in the loss.
James Thomas (2018) Lower Richland HS – Team United South Carolina 17U
Thomas 5’8 point guard that is quick and relentless on defense. Thomas is the table setter for Team United South Carolina 17U . Thomas scored 10 points in the loss.
Zaquan Grant (2018) Spring Valley- Team United South Carolina 17U
Grant 6’3 left-handed post player. Grant creates his own offense on a lot of put backs and second chances on the glass. Grant scored 17 points in the loss.
Brandon Burford (2018) Comenius – E.A. Prep Stars- Alexander Stars (photo on front)
Burford is a quick and crafty player. Burford is a high energy player. Burford has good mid-range game and will knockdown the 3 pointer. Burford scored 22 and 20 points in two games on Saturday afternoon.
Yohannes Utsey (2018) Orangeburg-Wilkinson- Orangeburg Xpress 17U
Utsey is a undersized post player. Utsey 6’6 draws a lot of contact in the paint. Utsey tends at times to get frustrated with the lack of support around him. Utsey finished on contact several times this afternoon. Utsey finished with 20 points in the win.
Desmond Pressley (2017) Hemingway- Team All or Nothing 17
Pressley 6’0 left-handed guard for Team All or Nothing. Pressley a unsigned senior scored 20 points in the loss today. Pressley really has a great knack to score the ball and keep the ball low to the floor. Pressley recently has picked up some scholarships from Newberry and North Greenville (NCAA D2) programs here in the Palmetto State.
Pressley was named Class A State Player of the Year and helped his Hemingway HS Tigers win a State Championship this past March.
