Big Shots – Charlotte: 2019 Standouts
Prep Hoops takes a look at some players from the Palmetto State 2019 class that played this past weekend in Big Shots-Charlotte.
Josiah James (2019) – Porter Gaud (Charleston) – TMP 17U
James is ranked the #2 in the Palmetto State 2019 Class. James 6’6 left-handed point guard has played up in age for the TMP the past few seasons. James has a great feel for the game and really sees the floor so well. James has received plenty of interest this season from college programs.
South Florida, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Mercer, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern are just some of the schools keeping tabs on James this spring.
Zeb Graham (2019) – Nation Ford HS (Fort Mill) – Team Charlotte 16U
Graham a point guard is ranked #7 in the 2019 Class in the Palmetto State. Graham really sees the floor well and makes his teammates happy with crisp passes. Graham is a vocal leader on the floor. Graham has received interest from Hampton University and Presbyterian this spring. Graham was named to the 5A All-State Team this past season.
Khydarius Smith (2019) – Nation Ford HS (Fort Mill) – Team Charlotte 16U
Smith 6’7 left-handed small forward teams up with Graham in high school at Nation Ford HS. Smith sees himself ranked #15 in the Prep Hoops 2019 class in the Palmetto State. Hampton University has shown interest in Smith this spring. Smith is versatile to play out on the perimeter or post up in the paint. Smith has good length and really defends the passing lanes.
Chico Carter Jr. (2019) – Cardinal Newman (Columbia) – Team Charlotte 16U (pictured on front)
Carter Jr. 6’2 point guard came over to Team Charlotte after playing last season with Upward Stars Southeast. Carter got into the paint here today at will. Carter Jr. likes to penetrate-kick to the open man. Carter Jr. hit some nice mid-range jumpers. Carter Jr. is ranked #20 in the 2019 Palmetto State Classic.
Na’Zae Baltimore (2019) – Aiken HS – Carolina Pressure
Baltimore had a strong showing this weekend for his Carolina Pressure squad. Baltimore 6’6 post player had 18 and 16 point games this weekend. Baltimore was automatic finishing around the basket. Baltimore is ranked #18 in the 2019 Palmetto State Class.
Trevur Smalls (2019) – Berkeley HS (Moncks Corner) – TMP 16U
Smalls came on the scene and made a strong showing for himself here this weekend. Smalls 6’4 wing player scored 17 points vs Team Charlotte. Smalls will be sure to follow suit later this month somewhere in the new 2019 rankings.
