Around the State : Florence County Underclassmen
Prep Hoops SC just just launched back in Mid January and we have seen plenty of players in that short time. Prep Hoops SC takes a look at the Florence County Underclassmen in this article.
Korique Rainey – South Florence HS
Rainey (2019) has some good moments playing off the ball last season for the Bruins. Rainey a baseball player in the spring time can really knockdown open shots from behind the arc. Rainey and Landon Dorsey (2018) will look to lead the Bruins this season from a upperclassmen stand point.
Nick Ford – South Florence HS
Ford 6’1 has a nice mid-rage game and can extend it out 3 point range. Ford (2020) will look to carry on more responsibility this up and coming season for the Bruins.
Chanze Timmons – South Florence HS
Timmons (2020) 6’3 should look to be a bigger part of the puzzle this season for the Bruins. Timmons saw limited minutes last season for the Bruins. Timmons can play with his back to the basket and shows to have very nimble feet.
Jordan Jones – South Florence HS
Jones 5’6 left-handed point guard saw good minutes for the Bruins last season. Jones plays with a fearless mindset and is quite confident on the floor. Jones missed part of the spring AAU season with a injury but when healthy he played with Big Shots South Carolina 15U.
The Bruins recently lost Quentin Hodge when he transferred out last month over to Lakewood HS (Sumter). A few times last season Head Coach John Schweitz would start 5 freshmen on the floor for the Bruins.
Rasheim Lyde – Timmonsville HS
Lyde is a very talented player when he wants to figure it out. Lyde has to stay focused on the court to be effective. Lyde (2019) averaged 15.5 ppg and 9.4 rebounds last season for the Whirlwinds. Lyde 6’2 wing player also plays football as a wide receiver/ linebacker.
Jordan Burch – Wilson HS (Florence) (pictured on front)
Burch is just freshman and it seems like he has been around forever already. Burch 6’5 is physically mature and gifted for his young age. Burch (2020) played varsity minutes at South Florence HS before coming over to Wilson HS last season. Burch is a very versatile player on the floor and a downhill driver. Burch left-handed plays AAU with the Carolina Wolves.
Allen Williamson – Wilson HS (Florence)
Williamson a wing player plays a bit of a old school game. Williamson left-handed can stroke the basketball when given open looks. Williamson (2019) plays football as a wide receiver for the Tigers. Burch and Williamson will look to team up with Alex Caldwell (2018) next season for the Tigers.
