Adidas Gauntlet Top Performers (Vincent Cole)
Vincent Cole recently de-committed from The College of Charleston and has re-classed to the 2018 class. He is spending the spring/summer playing on the Adidas Gauntlet with The Upward Stars program and has been scoring at the ball at a high level.
Through the first two sessions of the Adidas Gauntlet, Cole is averaging 18 points and 6 rebounds per game. He scored 22 points against The Showtime Ballers and 21 points against Team Loaded NC.
Colleges are starting to see his ability to score can translate well over to the college level as Norfolk State recently offered and Arkansas has shown interest.
Long and athletic and understands the game, he has a cockiness to his game that can’t be taught and doesn’t back down from anyone. He can score against anyone in the country and he knows it. He has a streaky shot that when he gets going, he can rattle off four or five in a row from deep.
His high school coach, York Prep Head Coach Frank Hamrick had this to say about his star scoring guard, “Vince has the two things I love most in a player: he has a high motor and he can score the ball. He is an enthusiastic defender & an unselfish teammate.”
The team as a whole has struggled, going 1-7 so far in the Gauntlet, but Cole has been a bright spot for Upward. With his re-class, he legitimizes his place as a top 2-3 player in South Carolina for the 2018 class.
