Spring Warmup Day 1 Standouts
BOWIE, MD — The DC Blue Devils Spring warmup got underway at Bowie City Gym on Saturday, and we were in the gym for a full day of action. Here is a look at five players who stood out.
‘18 BRAXTON FOREMAN | 17U TEAM MELO RED
At 6-foot-5, Braxton Foreman has good size on the wing, and proved to be a very efficient shooter from three point range. Foreman lit up New World for five treys on his way to a team-high 15 points.
‘18 AMIR HARRIS | 17U NEW WORLD
In the last twelve months, don’t think we’ve seen many players who’ve gained more confidence than Amir Harris. The high energy 6’4 playmaker is a really versatile and active defender, and a talented scorer who also enjoys creating for others.
‘19 MAKHI MITCHELL | 16U DC BLUE DEVILS
Makhi Mitchell did a bit of everything for DC Blue Devils in their two wins today, and he’s clearly worked hard to improve his fitness and round into shape. You can’t teach the size that Mitchell has at 6’9+, but he also has really good quickness and coordination.
‘20 MARTAZ ROBINSON | 15U TEAM BBC
Team BBC took down a talented DCBD squad, and Martaz Robinson was the head of the snake. The crafty lead guard got virtually wherever he wanted on the floor, and showed a ton of creativity when finishing around the rim.
‘19 CHARLIE WEBER | 16U 6TH MAN WARRIORS
Charlie Weber caught fire from the corner for 6th Man Warriors, but that wasn’t all he did. The 6’7 forward is an absolute workhorse, and did a nice job rebounding on both ends of the floor.
