Recruiting Report: Erik Stevenson (2018)
One of the most underrated 2018 Washington state prospects is 6-4 Timberline guard, Erik Stevenson.
Stevenson is a very balanced guard that can shoot, pass, rebound and play defense. His length and speed are traits that make him one of the better athletes in the state. He has a very good vertical that gives him the ability to finish above the rim and block opponents shots as well. Stevenson also has a knack of knowing when to pass instead of shoot as well.
“Positives of my game would be shooting, passing, basketball IQ, rebounding and being a leader,” Stevenson said.
But how good Stevenson is, he knows that there are a couple of things that he needs to work on.
“I need to work on my ball handling and perfecting how to create space,” he said.
Currently, Stevenson has five scholarship offers to play at Division one programs. Old Dominion, Cal Poly, Wichita State, Hawaii and Washington State have all offered him. Stevenson hopes to get more offers as his senior season approaches.
“I am pushing to play high major D1 ball,” Stevenson said. “I currently have interest from many other D1 schools as well.”
Stevenson will be able to showcase his talent next season in the South Sound Conference to hopefully garner more interest from colleges.
“It’s (South Sound Conference) isn’t the toughest conference in the state,” Stevenson said. “But every game I’m being double or triple teamed which makes me think throughout the game.”
Stevenson averaged 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block per game.
