Prospect Spotlight: Jordon Jones (2018)
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel forward Jordon Jones will run on the Adidas Gauntlet with Team BBC. We liked what we saw from the 6-foot-7 junior at the DC Blue Devils Spring Warmup earlier this month. Look for Jones to turn some heads this spring, and see an uptick in his recruitment.
“I’m an all-around player. Offense. Defense. I can do both.” said Jones, who’s older sister, Brionna, was just drafted eighth overall by the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun. Jones comes from a strong basketball background, and recalls playing the game since a very young age.
Over the last twelve months or so, Jones has put in a tremendous amount of work in the gym working on his explosiveness. The results have been positive, and Jones believes that he’s made significant progress in that area.
“I’ve been working out a lot. I can jump a lot higher now,” said Jones, who was seen blocking and altering several shots at the Spring Warmup. “I need to work on my shot a little more. So I can be more consistent.”
Kent State is the only school involved with Jones at this point, but we expect that to change come the spring evaluation period. Jones can bring low post scoring, a lot of energy, and defense to a division one program. What type of school does Jones see himself attending?
“Whoever is the best fit for me. I can play well with the team. I can perform well. Show I can play.”
