Prospect Spotlight: Jase Paulsen (2018)
One of the best three point shooters in the state is junior 6-2 forward Jase Paulsen from Curtis High School.
Paulsen is a sharp shooter known for his range and ability to get hot at any time. He has a quick release on his shot that is able to beat majority of defenders. He’s very adept at finding space on the floor to pull up and launch three pointers.
“I am definitely an offensive threat,” Paulsen said.
But there are some things that Paulsen wants to improve on to further his game.
“I need to work on becoming more physical and strong,” he said. “I’m going to be getting into the weight room a lot this summer.”
As a junior, Paulsen is focused on his senior season at Curtis, but he has had thoughts to play basketball in college. He hasn’t heard from any colleges, but he is trying to have a meeting set up with Concordia University.
“I have contacted the Concordia head and assistant coach’s to see if I can meet with them while I am on my school visit,” Paulsen said.
In the meanwhile Paulsen will try to get more exposure by playing at Curtis High School in the 4A South Puget Sound League where the competition is tough.
“To play in the conference that I play in is amazing,” Paulsen said. “Everyone respects you for who you are and what you can do on court.”
Last season Paulsen made 40 three pointers shooting 43 percent from the three point line.
