Prospect Spotlight: Jahmir Young (2019)
Jahmir Young, a class of 2019 point guard for Team Takeover, is coming off a breakout sophomore year with St. Mary’s Ryken. Young had a solid showing at The Scrimmage last weekend, and all signs point to a breakout AAU campaign for the talented floor general.
“I like to get my teammates involved I’m a pass first guard,” said Young, a resident of Bowie, MD, about his playing style. “I also like to score after I get my teammates involved. I’m a team player.”
Consistency and perimeter shooting are two things Young has worked hard to improve since his freshman season. Young averaged nearly 10 points per game, and hit one trey per game as well.
“Need to work on everything,” said Young, a 3.3 student. “Try to just improve my game every day.”
Young’s goal is to play division one basketball at the highest level. While his recruitment is still just beginning, he possesses the intangibles and work ethic to accomplish that goal. What can Young bring to a college program?
“A Leader. Confidence, and a team player. Someone who’s able to win games.”
