Prospect Spotlight: Hunter Campau (2019)
The sophomore guard from Timberline High School, Hunter Campau didn’t put up gaudy stats last season but did show potential.
Campau is a pure shooter that has playmaking abilities. He has nice shooting stroke that makes it easy for him to get a shot up. But he doesn’t force shots and can dish the ball when needed.
“I would describe my game as a knock down shooter who gets everyone involved,” Campau said.
The 5-9 guard also has crafty ball handling skills that helps him find open shots all over the floor. But it’s not all skill that helps Campau succeed on the hardwood, it’s his effort too.
“I’m always hustling for everything,” Campau said.
Campau said that he’s had thoughts of playing at the next level but he hasn’t heard yet from any schools. He knows he needs to improve on his game to play at the next level.
“I need to work on my on-ball defense and getting stronger,” Campau said. “I also need to work on taking on a leadership role next season.”
He’ll have another two seasons to improve his game in the South Puget Sound Conference while playing for Timberline.
“Competing in the South Sound conference is a challenge because every team brings their best game when they play us,” he said.
Last season Campau averaged 6.7 points, 1.3 assists, two rebounds and a steal per game.
