Prospect Spotlight: Bradley Graham (2020)
Decatur 5-foot-10 point guard Bradley Graham wants to become one of Washington’s best point guards, but his mission was suspended for one season.
He broke his leg right before his freshman season started, forcing him to sit out his frosh campaign. A tough blow for a kid who was starting with the varsity during summer league.
Graham discussed his recovery process with PHWA, and mentioned what his style of play is now that he’s healthy again.
“I started to focus more on small muscles and balance, so not so much heavy lifting, but exercise balls and little things like that. It took six months after I broke my leg until I was able to play again,” said Graham.
“I definitely feel that I’m one of the best shooters in the state, probably. And also I can pick-and-roll pretty well. I’ve been starting to lift weights more and work on my athleticism; just get faster, quicker, stronger.”
Graham is now playing his 15U season with Northwest Panthers, and says he’s slowly getting back to 100 percent.
“My role is to facilitate the ball and play defense, and knock down open shots whenever I get the chance,” he said.
“I was definitely a little rusty when I first came back, mainly because I was just out of shape. But I’m getting back to where I need to be.”
His goals for the summer? Start to see some recruitment come in, and add strength.
“I’m just hoping to maybe get some college interest,” he said. “And I mainly just want to get stronger and become more of a physical power, so that next year during high school, I can be one of the top guards.”
