Prep Hoops takes a look at some recruiting news from around the Palmetto State this week
here in this segment.
Mamoudou Diarra
Mamoudou Diarra (2017) – 22Ft Academy
Diarra will visit UCONN this coming weekend according to 22Ft Academy Head Coach Richard
Gatewood. Diarra is ranked #3 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season. Diarra had signed with the
University of Washington then got his release when then Head Coach Lorenzo Romar was let go.
Western Kentucky, Missouri, Cincinnati and Wichita State all have visits lined up for the future
according to Gatewood.
Duane Moss
Duane Moss (2017) – Carolina Forest
Moss 6’7 forward recently got his release from Youngstown State University. Moss played in
just a handful of games this season for the Panthers befre being sidelined with a injury.
Moss has heard from UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina, Washington State, Tennessee Tech,
Ohio University, Cleveland State, Radford and others this week.
Moss scored 1,010 career points for the Panthers. Moss is ranked #8 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Jaylenn Corbett (2017) – Sumter (pictured on front)
Corbett has decided to sign with Cowley College in Arkansas City, KS for next season. Cowley College
is a NJCAA D1 program that plays in the Jayhawk Conference. Corbett averaged 8.3 ppg and 6.2 rebounds
for the Fighting Gamecocks this season. Corbett recently played in the Swanny’s Unsigned Senior Event
at Lakewood HS.
Tyrell Still
Tyrell Still (2017) – Lakewood
Still has informed Prep Hoops that he will attend Pfeiffer University in North Carolina next season. The
Falcons will make the transition to NCAA D3 next season after playing at the NCAA D2 level. Still 6’2 combo
guard averaged 7.8 ppg this season for the Gators. Still is a pesky on the ball defender who rebounds
well for his size. Still is ranked #106 in the Prep Hoops Top 125. Still recently played in Swanny’s Unsigned
Senior Event.
Rodney “RJ” Gunn (2017) – Irmo
Gunn 6’7 has really grown up literally in the past year to the tune of 5 inches. Gunn recently picked up a offer
from South Carolina State. Benedict, Claflin, Anderson, Francis Marion, Coker, and Lenoir-Rhyne
have all shown interest in Gunn this spring. Gunn is ranked #32 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Jimmy Nichols
Jimmy Nichols (2018) – Conway
Nichols was recently named Mr Hoop Zone in the Pee Dee/Grand Strand Area. Nichols a 6’7 lefty
has recently heard from Rutgers and Arizona State. Nichols is running AAU with Garner Road
– Raleigh, NC based team.
