Nike Spring Showdown: 2020 Scouting
PrepHoopsIllinois spent this past weekend at Nike Spring Showdown in Romeoville. We extensively evaluated prospects in all classes from the state of Illinois. Take a look at our scouting report of the event. Here are our evaluations of the 2020 prospects in the event!
SF Cameron Daughtery (ET21 Buckeyes 16U)
Daughtery is playing up on the 16U level with ET21 Buckeyes. Physically he can more than hold his own at 6’5” with nice strength. Hit a corner three. Naperville Central forward is one track over time.
SG Jabari Chiphe (Made Men 15U)
Chiphe has projectability at 6’2”. He has strong arms and a nice frame. Powerful attacking the hoop. Chiphe has an explosive first step off the dribble. Bouncy athlete gets to the charity stripe at an extremely high rate where he knocks them down at a nice clip.
SF Justin Cross (Made Men 15U)
Cross is an upside wing that has the physical tools at 6’4” along with a projectable frame and length. Needs to add significant strength going forward. Had a nice floater in the lane and is a smooth athlete.
G Michael Osborne (Made Men 15U)
Osborne is a player that intrigued us during the high school season. He played some as a freshman for Proviso East. Playing with Made Men 15U the combo guard at 6’1” is strong attacking in transition. Gets to the foul line and tries to play physical attacking his opponent.
PF Jackson Connor (Ramey-Jets United 15U)
Connor stands at 6’5” with a strong upper and lower body. The Marion face up four man handles it well from 18 feet and in. He likes to take his opposing post player out on the perimeter and attack them off the bounce. Crafty forward that is a solid athlete. Connor has a knack for getting to the free throw line at an extremely high rate where he is a plus shooter from the charity stripe. Good second jump getting on the offensive glass. Connor is a southern Illinois 2020 to track.
SG Amir Spann (Ramey-Jets United 15U)
Spann is a 6’2” shooting guard from Mt. Vernon. He does most of his damage on the interior. Likes short jumpers and floaters. Bouncy athlete that rebounds well for his position. Solid free throw shooter. Kid with upside that if he develops his perimeter game could be one to definitely track.
