Intro: Willante Williams (2018)
Proviso West 2018 Willante Williams is a 6’1” lefty handed combo guard that is slick with the ball in his hands. He has crisp handles and the ability to get through the defense with shiftiness and being slippery through traffic. Great feel for getting others involved and is a plus passer from the point guard position. Seems to be a guy that others want to follow. Like his lateral movement on the defensive end being able to stay in front of his man.
Williams spoke about his experience at the recent PrepHoopsIllinois Stock Up Showcase as he played on one of the best teams at the event.
“It is going great. My team is good. We pass the ball and share it. Play defense. I can’t ask for anything better than that.”
He is a bit under the radar as he missed part of his junior year.
“I didn’t play the second half of the season because I was hurt with a patella injury.”
What are the strengths in his game at this stage of his development?
“I am a shooter that can stick you on defense and pass the ball. I see the court and run the court hard.”
Chicago Wolf Pack Elite will be the team he will play with his spring on the travel team circuit.
“I am looking forward to winning a lot of tournaments we get in.”
He hasn’t heard from any colleges to this point.
