IndyBall: Stock Risers
This past weekend in Indianapolis, we got to see a ton of new faces and some old ones as well. Here, we try to dive into a few names that have really taken off since the last few months. Here are our top stock risers from IndyBall.
Trey Davis – 6’1 | PG | 2018 | Plainfield (IN) | Northside Spartans 2018-Scott
With Trey, he’s been a guy I’ve known about for a while now but he’s only begun really taken off since this high school season. He played really well in the games we were able to see and this weekend, he was doing the same things against better competition. He’s a tough guard who has a lot of length and handles to stay on the ball. Plays really tough and should be a guy that a lot of high-end NAIA programs should be looking at.
Jackson Marcotte – 6’8 | C | 2018 | Mt. Carmel (IL) | Indiana Elite 2018
Over the last few years, Marcotte has always been interesting as most 6’8 prospects are. However, his footwoork and agility look like they are on another level right now and while he isn’t going to beat anyone in a foot race, he’s going to be able to get his shot off one way or another. He’s a good football prospect but could easily see him getting the same or better offers on the basketball side.
Aaron Henry – 6’6 | SF | 2018 | Ben Davis (IN) | Indiana PROS 2018
As if Henry’s stock was already high enough, I firmly believe he’s going to make that jump this summer to the high major level of offer. Many schools have already been messing around with him but after watching him with his trimmed down frame and added bounce, his skill set is going to shine even more. He’s got that capability to take over games now and his mid-range and deep jumper are great.
Logan Carter – 6’10 | C | 2019 | Evansville Mater Dei (IN) | Pocket City 2019
Logan has been a kid that has had to overcome some injuries and while that has set him back, he’s starting to get going now. He looked a ton more mobile and agile, able to be aggressive at the rim and dominate inside. He’s putting up big numbers and looks like a guy who is about to jump in his development.
Jared Hankins – 6’3 | SG | 2019 | Lawrence North (IN) | Indiana Elite Fastbreak 2019
Being a bit buried on the Lawrence North roster might be a good thing for Hankins. He’s a tough guard who looks ready for his chance to start producing. He’s shown that he can do all the little things like defend and rebound. Add in his ability to shoot like he did this weekend and put up 51 points, and you have a guy on the verge of becoming a prospect to watch around the state.
