Grassroots : Icebreaker Invitational Day 2
The Grassroots AAU has started and Prep Hoops took in the action this weekend at
the Icebreaker Invitational in North Augusta and Aiken, SC. Here are some players
that made some noise on Day 2 of the event from the Palmetto State.
Trae Hannibal – Hartsville – Carolina Wolves 16 (2019)
Hannibal has great explosion to the rack and has a great scorers mentality. Hannibal is a very deceptive
athlete with his bounce.
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch – Wilson (Florence) – Carolina Wolves 16 (2020)
Burch 6’5 is just a (2020) and plays up on this team. Burch is a physically mature guard
that can play multiple positions. Burch a left-handed guard can knockdown the three pointer or bully
you down in the paint.
Anthoney Ray – Midland Valley (Graniteville) – Carolina Wolves 17 (2018) (pictured on front)
Ray 6’4 is a slender-sleek wing player for the Wolves. Ray has a nice mid-range game and can behind
the arc. Ray averaged 15.6 ppg this past season at Midland Valley.
Keenan Norman – Dillon – Big Shots Elite SC (2017)
Norman 5’9 played point guard today here for Big Shots Elite SC and got to the basket quite
easily. Norman shows a very quick 1st step and has the ability to shoot the 3 pointer. Norman
will need to entertain junior college options.
Eric Burks Jr.
Eric Burks Jr. – Stratford (Goose Creek) – Karolina Khaos 17 (2018)
Burks Jr stands 6’6 and really has a great stroke from behind the arc. Burks Jr. likes to play face-up to the
basket but kept the Khaos in the game during the opener versus Southern Stampede.
Kojack Thompson
Kojack Thompson – The Christ School (Arden, NC) – Karolina Khaos 17 (2019)
Thompson a jet quick point guard is originally from Greenville, SC and attend Christ Church before
leaving for Arden, NC. Thompson was playing up a age group this weekend can really swarm the ball
on defense. Thompson had no problem getting the ball into lane when he wanted to at times today.
Dallaz Corbitt
Dallaz Corbitt – 22Ft Academy – Karolina Khaos 16 (2019)
Corbitt originally from Columbia, SC started his high school career at Keenan HS before moving
over to 22Ft Academy. Corbitt 6’6 combo forward was able to post up today and work block to block.
Corbitt finished around the rim today very well and right now is really a tweener on the floor.
Marlon “OJ” Hill – West Ashley (Charleston) – Karolina Khaos 16 (2019)
Hill comes over to the Karolina Khaos after playing with Charleston based Premier Jammers. Hill
brought his fellow high school teammates Skylar Williams and Kenyatta Jenkins to the fold with the
Khaos. Hill really likes to stalk the baseline and shoot the 3 ball from the corners.
Darius Boatwright
Darius Boatwright – Dillon – Big Shots Elite 16 (2019)
Boatwright 6’6 really likes to play on the perimeter. Boatwright excels in the 15-17 feet range. Boatwright
is slender athlete with some pretty good bounce to him.
