Grassroots : Big Shots – Day 2
Prep Hoops South Carolina stayed on the Grand Strand for Big Shots – Myrtle Beach.
Here are some players that stood out to us on the day.
Damon McDowell (2017) – Carolina Forest HS – Flight 22 Select
McDowell a left-handed guard only played half of the season this year for the Panthers.
McDowell a slender-sleek kid lives to play on the perimeter. McDowell remains open in
the recruiting process for next season.
Jordan Furlough
Jordan Furlough (2018) – St James HS – Flight 22 Select
Furlough 6’6 moves quite well around the floor. Furlough has the ability to knockdown the 16-18 footer.
Furlough is a player to keep a eye on coming into his senior year. Furlough has the tools to develop
into a stretch 4 man.
Greg Archie (2017) – Oceanside Collegiate Academy – Premier Jammers
Archie a left-handed guard remains open in his recruitment. Archie averaged 14.3 ppg, 3 rebounds,
4.2 assists and 3.4 steals this past season for OCA. Archie has attended 3 schools in 4 years. Archie played
at Fort Dorchester HS and Cathedral Academy in the past. Archie was able to show a nice mid-range game
today for the Jammers.
Sidney Robinson
Sidney Robinson (2017) – Burke HS – Premier Jammers
Robinson is built like a fullback on the football field. Robinson told Prep Hoops he has received interest
from Lander University and USC-Aiken this spring. Robinson shows great hustle at all times on the floor.
Robinson helped his Bulldog teammates to a 2A State Championship over Keenan HS. Robinson scored
over 1200 career points.
Anthony Hill
Anthony Hill (2017) – Burke HS – Premier Jammers
Hill 6’4 small forward is very athletic. Hill runs the floor very well and shows great activity around the
rim. Hill will need to entertain junior college options for next season.
Andrew Gardner (2018) – Socastee HS – Big Shots Elite South Carolina
Gardner has the skills to play on the perimeter and prefers to play out there. Gardner 6’7
can hit the 3 pointer and shows good passing skills. Gardner needs to work on his motor
at times.
Juwan Perdue
Juwan Perdue (2019) – Lakewood HS – SC Ballers Elite 2019
Perdue has all the tools to be a special player. Perdue is a skilled left-handed wing player who has showed
glimpses to being really good down the road. Perdue excels in transition and around the rim. Perdue saw great
minutes this season for the Gators.
Javonte McCloud
Javonte McCloud (2019) – Lee Central HS – SC Ballers Elite 2019
McCloud is a very confident shooter on the floor. McCloud 5’10 shows all out great hustle and has
a nose for the ball. McCloud 5’11 should be a factor this season on the Stallions roster.
Ny’gel Boozer
Ny’gel Boozer (2019) Airport HS – SC Kings 16
Boozer really has a great quick 1st step to the basket. Boozer shows a cross-over move and his
game predicates to going to the basket. Boozer hit a few floaters here in the lane.
Amari Smith (2019) Lower Richland HS – South Carolina Tigers 16 (pictured on front)
Smith 6’6 (220) left-handed post player has really good length. Smith is still a bit akward
still seems to be growing into his frame. Smith was able to get a lot of deflections. Smith is a
mover-screener and shows a great ability to seal in the low post.
