Grassroots : Big Shots – Columbia, SC Day 1
Prep Hoops took the 2 hour drive back down to the Capitol City of
Columbia to take in a Big Shots Event at Heathwood Hall. The action
was good all day long. Here are some kids that remain under the radar this spring.
Naquan Addison
Naquan Addison (2018) – Spring Valley – Team United SC
Addison really likes to stir up the pot at times when on the floor with his aggressive play.
Addison a off guard slashes to the basket and finishes in traffic very well. Addison shows a lot
of confidence on the floor and shows great body control.
Jackie Jackson (2018) – West Ashley – Premier Jammers (pictured on front)
Jackson 6’0 really had a good few games today for the Jammers. Jackson led the way with 17 points
over Charleston rival Port City Stars. Jackson knocked down several three pointers today.
D’angelo Knight
D’angelo Knight (2018) – Fort Dorchester – Premier Jammers
Knight is a physical specimen and just bullies players in the paint. Knight a two sport athlete looks
to be going the football route for next season. Knight informed Prep Hoops that he is receiving interest
from Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion, West Virginia, Tennessee State, Florida State and North Carolina
State on the gridiron.
Romello Grant
Romello Grant (2019) – Military Magnet – Charleston Strong
Grant is a strong slashing guard who uses his body extremely well to finish at the rack. Grant
also excels in the back field at Military Magnet as a tailback. Grant averaged 16.2 ppg this season.
Saquel Pepper
Saquel Pepper (2017) – Orangeburg-Wilkinson – Manning Gators
Pepper is a old school throwback player that’s just a junkyard dog on the floor. Pepper scores all
of his points inside the paint and rebounds extremely well for his size. Pepper gets in your
grill on the defensive end. Pepper scored 19 points in the Gators win last night over the SC Kings.
Dontrea Osborne (2017) -Lakewood – Manning Gators
Osborne fresh off a visit at USC-Salkehatchie earlier this week played really well for the Gators.
Osborne is a bulldog guard that was attacking the basket and finishing in traffic today.
Jaylenn Corbett #41 and Davonte Pack #20
Jaylenn Corbett (2017) and Davonte Pack (2017) – Manning Gators
Corbett and Pack duo helped the Gators to a 3-0 day yesterday and a showdown with TMP
in the Championship Game. Corbett and Pack will both sign this coming week with Cowley
College in Arkansas City, KS.
Christian Drummond
Christian Drummond (2017) -Bishop England – Port City Stars
Drummond 6’6 face-up 4 man scored 30 points and dropped in 6 three pointers in a loss today
to the Premier Jammers. Drummond who excels in the classroom looks to be headed to the
University of the South (TN) next season with high school teammate Brendan McHale.
