Grassroots : Ashton Arnold Memorial Tourney – Day 2
Prep Hoops took in the morning session of Day 2 at the Ashton Arnold Memorial Tourney
in Easley, SC yesterday. Here are some players that stood out yesterday in performance
Travis “TJ” Brown (2018) – Dreher – Lower Richland Promise (pictured on front)
Brown a small forward has know problem shooting the ball from behind the arc. Brown hit
several three pointers today. Brown stands at 6’3 and at times will bring the ball up the floor.
Dreshaun Jones
Dreshaun Jones (2017) – Dreher – Lower Richland Promise
Jones a wing player is still looking for a college next season. Jones has a great mid-range game
from 15-17 feet. Jones has the ability to handle the rock and really defends the passing lanes
with a lot of deflections. Jones mentioned to Prep Hoops he was looking at Newberry for next
season.
Cameron Cunningham
Cameron Cunningham (2018) – JL Mann (Greenville) – SC Raptors Elite
Cunningham just glides over the court. Cunningham stalks the baseline and has the ability
to knockdown the baseline jumper.
Quintin Moulterie
Quintin Moulterie (2018) – Anderson Christian – SC Raptors Elite
Moulterie is a undersized post player with a great frame. Moulterie built like a defensive end uses
his body well to carve out space in the paint and has the ability to hit the elbow jumper. Moulterie
averaged 11.5 ppg and 7.9 rebounds this season for Anderson Christian.
Zam Fredrick
Zam Fredrick (2018) – Calhoun County (St Matthews) – SC Hornets 17
Fredrick the younger son of legendary Zam Fredrick (Former USC Gamecock). Fredrick
is a bit of a one-trick pony on the floor. Fredrick has range on his shot out to 25 feet. Fredrick
stands just at 5’9.
Darius Bryant
Darius Bryant (2017) – Lexington – SC Hornets 17
Bryant arrived here late in the 1st game for the Hornets. Bryant a unsigned senior looks to
be heading to Montverde Academy (FL) next season for a post-grad year. Bryant a undersized
scoring guard finished his career with 1,650 points.
Omar Croskey
Omar Croskey (2019) – Sumter – SC Hornets 16
Croskey is a virtual unknown to the Prep Hoops staff. Sumter HS is one of the biggest schools in the
state and who knows how many kids are walking the hallways there. Croskey 6’4 left-handed
small forward has a slender-sleek frame. Croskey shows a quick shot release from three point range.
Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson (2019) – Westside (Anderson) – SC Raptors Elite
Johnson a point guard got the ball to the rack quite easily today. Johnson likes to play uptempo and
excels in the open court. Johnson looks to be a big-time running back at the 5A Westside HS
after rushing for 897 yards on 183 carries last season for a 10-2 team.
Team South Carolina Traye Carson, Chase Claxton, Donta King, Russell Jones, Walyn Napper
and Charles”Tre” Jackson were all getting ready to play before we had to get on the road to
Columbia, SC. This group is coached by Lakewood HC Bryan Brown and Legacy Charter Assistant
Coach Mike Alexander. Alexander recently went back to Legacy Charter after coaching this season
at 22Ft Academy.
