Swanny’s Unsigned Senior Event – Part 4
Prep Hoops continues to breakdown the players from the Swanny’s Unsigned Senior
Event – Part 4 in this article.
Khalid Lackings – Manning (pictured on front)
Lackings was a pleasant surprise here at the camp. Lackings 5’11 left-handed guard is
extremely athletic and shows a really nice pull-up jumper from mid-range. Lackings
averaged 9.3 ppg this season for the Monarchs. Lackings might need to entertain
junior college options for next season.
Robert Samuel
Robert Samuel – Lugoff-Elgin (Lugoff)
Samuel is a old-school throwback the way he plays the game. Samuel feels comfortable playing the off
guard spot. Samuel a left-handed guard sees the floor very well and is a very crisp passer.
Samuel doesn’t scream athleticism but he does need time to set his feet for his shot. Samuel
averaged 7.7 ppg this season.
Jamal Stevens – Strom Thurmond (Johnston)
Stevens 5’11 plays off the ball for the Rebels. Stevens was first seen by the Prep Hoops staff
back in Wilmington, NC at the Leon Brodgen Classic. Stevens was a All-Region performer
this season while averaging 16.2 ppg.
Patrick Strange-Prince Branchville
Strange-Prince played at small 1A school Branchville. Strange-Prince 5’10 guard shot the 3 ball
well today while also getting to the basket from time to time.
Khalil Lewis – Port City Prep (North Charleston)
Lewis is a 6’2 point guard that did a post grad year at Port City Prep for Head Coach Tony Eady. Lewis
a Columbia, SC native graduated from Ridge View HS. Lewis uses his body so well and has great body
control on the floor. Lewis is a physical and strong point guard that really excels getting to the basket.
Lewis must improve on his perimeter shooting. Lewis averaged 17.4 ppg and 7.2 rebounds this season
for the Panthers.
Aaron Rivers – Timmonsville
Rivers 6’4 undersized post player averaged 18.1 ppg and 11 rebounds this season for the Whirlwinds.
Rivers is athletic kid that plays in the post. Rivers is not afraid of drawing contact. Rivers played
football in the fall. Rivers will need to entertain junior college options.
JaQuan Chestnut
JaQuan Chestnut – Myrtle Beach
Chestnut stands at 6’4 and goes by the name “Slim”. Chestnut averaged 10 ppg and 11 rebounds this
year for the Seahawks. Chestnut needs to play in the post and the farther away from the basket he’s
the least effective he tends to be. Chestnut played AAU with Manzer. Chestnut has good athleticism and
tends to be active on the floor at all times. Chestnut might need to look into junior college options.
Mason Snype – St Ignatios Prep (Spartanburg)
Snype 6’1 off guard did a post-grad year at St Ignatios Prep. Snype feels more comfortable shooting the ball
at the 2 guard spot. Snype played high school basketball at Fort Dorchester HS.
