Recruiting Report: Romelo Burrell (2017)
Morgan Park 2017 6’7” power forward Romelo Burrell is a long forward that is a good athlete. He has started to put it together being more productive late in his season season. He was extremely active on the offensive glass early in the CPS championship game when we evaluated him. Playing with a higher motor than we have seen in the past. Jump shot showed flashes of improvement as he stepped out to hit a few shots beyond the arc. Burrell is a long and lanky post that has plus athleticism. D2 potential target.
He spoke about his senior season.
“I think it has been pretty good. I have been preparing a lot to take on this role and I think I have done a good job. I have improved at making my three point shot as well as attacking and getting to the free throw line. Also rebounding.”
What are his strengths as a prospect?
“At the next level I feel I can bring defense, rebounding, and making open shots.”
Burrell spoke about his recruitment.
“I am still talking to a few schools. I have talked to SIU and Illinois State. Also from a few JUCO’s like Lincoln Trail and Walters State.”
