Recruiting Report: Mitchell Plombon (2018)
At 19.1 points and 7.8 rebounds a game its been a nice year for the Crusaders from St. Cloud Cathedral. The 6-foot-6 Mitchell Plombon is a top NSIC prospect.
“The year has been going very good we have been playing really good lately and it is great for propelling us into playoffs,” Mitchell said.
The Crusaders are 22-4 heading into 6AA sub-section play. They are a strong favorite in 6AA-East but it’s the east must topple to get to state. Melrose has already beaten them twice and St. Cloud Cathedral must figure out a way to get past the Dutchmen.
“The playoffs this year is looking really good we have a good shot to make it to state,” Plombon said. “We will most likely play Melrose in the finals which will be a great game we have played them tough both games this year.”
Melrose won game one by 13 and game to by six. Cathedral starts with Pierz, then Braham or Foley, and then likely Milaca or media darling Pine City and their three pointers from every direction.
Mitchell is on the top of just about every coach’s list in the NSIC. Many have called Mitchell already. A big reason is that he has improved his skill facing the basket near the rim and out to the arc.
“My game this year I have improved in my guard play and shooting, I have also been able to see the floor better and understand certain scenarios.
“I have talked to a little over half of NSIC schools, and I just got back from a visit at Bemidji State.”
