Recruiting Report: Madison Lowery (2017)
We have been intrigued by Simeon 6’6” power forward Madison Lowery with his play over the last year. Lowery is a thick bodied and powerfully built post that does the dirty work. He is known for his toughness on the glass. Boxes out, goes aggressively after rebounds in traffic, and clears the area. Offensively most of his points come on dump off passes or using his mobility around the hoop to finish with power. Would be a high D3/NAIA kid. Also considering baseball for college.
The post talked about his final high schools season.
“My senior season has been pretty balanced. There have been some ups and downs not only with me, but as a team. We are good now.”
He broke down his game.
“I am known as a four and five, but I can play some three too. I can put the ball on the floor a little and shoot it from mid-range. I am a great rebounder.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“It is pretty balanced. I have some schools recruiting me for baseball and others recruiting me for basketball. Like I tell everybody I am open for recruitment in both sports. I haven’t made a decision on what I will play. Hopefully I will make that decision after the basketball season when I have some time to think and take visits.”
He mentioned a couple schools that have reached out.
“I have heard from some junior colleges like Lincoln Trail. I have heard from Chicago State and Bethune Cookman once each.”
