Recruiting Report: Lamont Sanders (2017)
Lamont Sanders was one of the most exciting guards to watch in Baltimore County this season. If you went to a Dulaney High School basketball game this season, it didn’t take long to realize that Sanders is a gifted competitor.
Sanders was a key piece in helping lead the Lions to a 17-7 record this past season. There season came to an end in the 4A Regional Semifinal against the top team in Baltimore, the Perry Hall Gators. Sanders wouldn’t go out without a fight as he posted his season-high of 28 points that game.

Sanders represented Baltimore County in the senior all star game, and he’ll also be participating in the well-known RoundBall Classic April 1 and 2. As for what team he will be suiting up for next season? That still remains undecided. Sanders told PrepHoops that he holds two offers from Post (D2) and Bowie State (D2). He is also heavily considering doing a post graduate year at a prep school as well.
The 6-foot guard is well equipped in the scoring department. He is good at taking what his match up gives him. If his man is sagging off of him, he can shoot the three. Sanders will also utilize his quick crossover to blow by his man if they are too close and pull up in the mid-range or attack the basket. Arguably the best part of watching Sanders is his competitive fire. He doesn’t just want to beat you, he wants to bury you. He’s relentless no matter what the scoreboard says and can ignite energy in his teammates at all times when he is on the floor.
Sanders is also undecided on where he will play AAU for the first month or so this spring. That announcement will come in the next couple of weeks.
