Recruiting Report: Cody Landwehr (2018)
Six-foot-6 power forward Cody Landwehr is scoring 17 plus a night for the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm. It’s been a tough year at times but a fun year for his team.
“This season has had its ups and downs but it’s been very enjoyable,” Landwehr told PHD. “The players and coaching staff all get along very well and we all seem to be on the same page.”
The Storm is 12-14 but has lost seven of their last ten games. Tonight they face Detroit Lakes in the first round of sections, a team that they’ve recently lost to.
“We should be able to do well in playoffs this year,” Cody said. “We have some great teams in our way if we want to make it to state but they are teams we are able to take care of.”
The last we saw of Cody he was all of 6-foot-6 and maybe even taller. His mid-range touch looks great and he’s always played hard.
“During this season I’d say my leadership has gotten better,” Cody said. “Another way that my game has improved would be my ability to dribble.”
The list of schools talking to Cody is growing regularly. The NSIC will surely want him and some D1 programs have also called.
“I’ve got an offer from St. Cloud State and interest from University of Denver, University of South Dakota, Northern State, Southwest Minnesota State, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Sioux Falls, Winona State, Minnesota State, and Augustana University,” Cody said.
